governance.

EG (ENDZ Group CIC) is a youth-led Community Interest Company (CIC), officially incorporated on 31st July 2024. As a CIC limited by guarantee, we are a not-for-profit organisation - this means any surplus we make is reinvested directly into our mission to engage, nurture, and develop young people across London. That mission is defined by our commitment to tackling social isolation, fostering creativity, and building opportunities through a values-led model rooted in Community, Inclusion, and Creativity. Our governance reflects this, with structures designed to centre youth voice, protect community interest, and ensure decisions are made ethically and transparently.

EG is governed by a Youth Board, which includes our three directors and four ordinary youth board members. The Youth Board holds collective responsibility for decision-making across the organisation, from strategic priorities to financial oversight. As young people ourselves, we believe in practising what we preach and keeping power in the hands of those closest to the issues we’re working to solve. To reinforce strong governance and good practice, we also have two unrelated signatories in place, as required under our grant agreements. This is to ensure independent sign-off on bank payments and financial matters.

Day-to-day operations are led by EG’s Managing Director, who heads the Youth Board and provides overall leadership for the organisation. They are responsible for driving EG’s outreach, partnerships, programme delivery, growth, and strategy. While we don’t have a CEO, the Managing Director plays an equivalent role—leading the organisation in a way that remains youth-led, values-driven, and collaborative. Every programme or project that EG runs is supported by its own Youth Advisory Group, made up of young people with lived experience, local knowledge, or a passion for the topic. These groups help guide content, priorities, and delivery approaches, ensuring that youth voice is embedded at every level. Oversight across all areas is maintained through regular team check-ins, planning reviews, and safeguarding debriefs.

We’re actively expanding our governance model with the creation of an EG-wide Youth Advisory Board. This will be a separate body of young people from across London who have either taken part in EG’s programmes/projects, or used any of our services, and want to be involved in shaping strategy across the organisation and ensure we remain youth-led. As EG grows, we’re committed to maintaining a structure that is strong and transparent, that funders, partners, and the community can trust.

As a Community Interest Company, we are legally accountable to the CIC Regulator, and we submit a full annual report that includes our activities, finances, and impact. We also aim to be publicly accountable to our community—providing regular updates, publishing our safeguarding and governance documents, and ensuring young people shape and challenge how we work. Whether through our creative programmes, policy campaigns, or tech platforms, EG’s governance is designed to be a living expression of our CIC values: empowering young people through Community, Inclusion, and Creativity, in everything we do.
