project 9.0
Project 9.0 is a youth-led campaign aiming to end child homelessness in London by 2035. Co-created with children and young people who have experienced homelessness, we're developing a bold, actionable 9-point plan for change. Join us in creating a future where no child grows up without a safe, stable home.
why ARE WE DOING THIS?
London is in a child homelessness emergency. Right now, over 90,000 children are living in temporary accommodation, and many more are sofa-surfing, stuck in unsafe housing, or taking on adult responsibilities just to survive. These are children growing up without safety, stability, or support. They are being pushed further into poverty, missing school, struggling with their mental health, and are often left to face it all alone.
There is no group focused solely on ending child homelessness in this city, particularly one led by young people. That’s why Project 9.0 exists. We are building a youth-led campaign to end child homelessness in London within nine years. It starts with a group of young people who’ve lived through it, leading the fight and sharing their stories. Together, they will create a bold 9-point plan that tackles the root causes and demands the change they want to see.
We are training up young people to become campaigners, storytellers, organisers and leaders. And because children can’t wait nine years, we’re also building something that should already exist, a youth-led advice and support space made by and for those facing homelessness now. It will offer honest, clear help in the ways young people actually need it, shaped by those who’ve lived it.

-
The Youth Advisory Group is a small team of young people with lived or shared experience of homelessness, leading the strategic direction of Project 9.0. They help shape the campaign’s priorities, co-design sessions and resources, and guide how we engage with decision-makers. They make sure the voices of those directly affected are always at the centre.

Youth Ambassadors are at the heart of Project 9.0. They’re young people with direct lived experience of homelessness, taking the lead in sharing their stories to drive change. Whether through creative content, local outreach, or campaigning, their role is to speak truth to power and bring visibility to what too many young people go through.
