Project 9.0

We are a youth-led campaign launched at the end of 2024, after it was revealed that over 90,000 children in London are living in temporary accommodation. We exist to help end child homelessness, combining youth-led systems change with real, practical support for children and young people facing unstable housing, offering a helping hand where it’s needed most.

What we do

  • Young people lead our campaign to change the system. Through the 9.0 Youth Collective, including our Young Changemakers, School Champions, and Young Advisors, we bring young voices together to shape solutions, challenge decision-makers, and push for long-term change.

  • We help people understand what child homelessness really looks like. Through Child Homelessness Day (held annually on 9th September) and ongoing campaigns, we share real experiences, reduce stigma, and get more people paying attention to the issue.

  • We want to create safe, welcoming spaces for young people affected by homelessness. Our 9 O’Clock Club will offer food, activities, and a place to relax and connect in the evenings, especially for those living in temporary and unsuitable accommodation.

  • We provide practical and flexible support to young people facing homelessness. This includes support packs, food vouchers and other help designed around individual needs, making sure children and young people aren’t left dealing with things on their own.

  • We know that a lot of young people take on responsibility for their family’s housing problems. Through our resource bank, we help these children and young people understand their rights, options, and what to do next, as well as signpost appropriate support.
