Project 9.0 Founding Board
The Project 9.0 Founding Board is a group of young people and experienced professionals working together to help prepare Project 9.0 for its future as an independent charity.
Over a two-year period, Founding Board Members will support the development of the organisation’s governance, safeguarding, fundraising, strategy and long-term structure as Project 9.0 transitions from a campaign delivered under ENDZ Group CIC into an independent Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO).
The Founding Board will play a key role in helping shape the future of one of London’s emerging youth-led movements tackling child homelessness.
Join the 9.0 Founding Board
Help build the future of Project 9.0 as we prepare to become an independent youth-led charity.
We’re recruiting Founding Board Members to help guide Project 9.0 through its next stage, from a campaign delivered by ENDZ Group CIC into an independent Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO).
This is a chance to help shape London’s youth-led campaign to end child homelessness and improve support for children and young people experiencing homelessness.
-
Project 9.0 is currently delivered by ENDZ Group CIC.
As the campaign grows, we believe Project 9.0 should become its own independent charity, with a clear focus on ending child homelessness in London and improving support for young people affected by homelessness.
Creating a Founding Board now means we can build this properly, with the right people, systems and safeguards in place before we formally become independent.
-
The Founding Board will help with:
shaping Project 9.0’s long-term strategy
preparing for charity registration
strengthening safeguarding and governance
supporting fundraising and partnerships
making sure youth voice is built into decisions
helping plan the transition from EG to an independent charity
This is not just an advisory group. It is a hands-on board helping to build the future organisation.
-
We are looking for 8 new Founding Board Members to join the board.
The full board will include 9 people, including an EG representative who will act as Co-Chair during the transition.
We are looking for people with experience or interest in:
youth voice and campaigning
homelessness or housing insecurity
safeguarding and youth work
charity governance
operations and policy
fundraising and partnerships
finance and risk
We especially welcome young people aged 18–25, people with lived or shared experience, and people who care deeply about youth-led change.
You do not need to have been on a board before.
-
An Independent Co-Chair
Help lead the Founding Board alongside the EG Representative Co-Chair, supporting strong governance, clear direction and a positive board culture.
Two Youth Voice & Campaigning Members (18-25)
Help make sure Project 9.0 stays genuinely youth-led, rooted in lived experience and connected to young people’s realities.
Two Safeguarding & Youth Practice Members
Help Project 9.0 grow safely, with strong safeguarding, youth work and trauma-informed practice.
One Governance & Operations Member
Help develop the systems, structures and processes needed for Project 9.0 to become an independent charity.
One Fundraising & Partnerships Member
Help shape funding, partnerships and external relationships to support Project 9.0’s long-term future.
One Finance & Risk Member
Help build strong financial oversight, budgeting and risk management as Project 9.0 prepares for independence.
-
Founding Board Members should be able to commit for at least 2 years.
This includes:
around 1 year as a Founding Board Member during the transition period
around 1 year as a trustee once Project 9.0 becomes an independent charity
The board is expected to meet monthly, usually online or hybrid.
The expected time commitment is around 3–5 hours per month, including meetings, preparation and occasional extra tasks.
-
Summer 2026 - Recruitment opens for Founding Board Members.
Late September 2026 - Official launch of the Project 9.0 Founding Board.
October 2026 – Summer 2027 - The board helps prepare Project 9.0 for independence.
09 September 2027 - Planned official transition to an independent charity, marking Child Homelessness Day.
-
We want young people to be active and equal members of the board, not token voices.
Young board members will be supported with induction, accessible meetings, mentoring, training and clear information before decisions are made.
We also plan to use support and resources from the Young Trustees Movement to help young board members feel confident in the role.
