Are you aged 11-25 and have lived or shared experience of homelessness?

We’re looking for young people to lead and develop our campaign to end child homelessness in 9 years for the 90,000.

The 9.0 Youth Collective is how young people get involved in Project 9.0. It’s for young people who want to learn about child homelessness, build campaigning skills, share their views, take action, and help push for a London where no child has to grow up homeless.

You don’t need to be an “expert” or already know loads about campaigning. The Youth Collective is about learning, speaking up, building confidence, and helping create real change with other young people.

  • School Champions is a school-based programme that introduces young people to Project 9.0 and social action more widely. Through workshops, activities, and youth-led challenges, you’ll learn about child homelessness, build confidence, develop campaigning skills, and explore how young people can create change in their communities.

  • Young Changemakers are young people aged 11-19 with lived or shared experience of homelessness, housing insecurity, or temporary accommodation. They help shape Project 9.0 through campaigning, creative projects, discussions, and youth-led action. It’s a space to connect with others who get it, build confidence, use your voice, and help fight for change.

  • Young Advisors are paid youth leaders (aged 16–25) who help run Project 9.0. They support sessions, outreach, content and other activities, and help turn young people’s ideas into real action. It’s a chance to gain paid experience, build confidence and leadership, support others, and be part of a campaign working to change a broken system.

Your Questions, Answered.

  • We run sessions for young people in South East and East London. We count South East London as any of these boroughs:

    • Bexley

    • Bromley

    • Greenwich

    • Lambeth

    • Lewisham

    • Southwark

Currently, we accept young people from these East London boroughs only:

    • Newham

    • Tower Hamlets

If you’re staying in temporary accommodation provided by any of these boroughs, you still count as being from that area – even if you’re currently placed somewhere else.

  • Homelessness isn’t just sleeping on the streets. It also means not having a safe, stable place to live. This can include staying in temporary accommodation, sofa surfing, living in an overcrowded home, or somewhere you could be asked to leave at any time.

If you don’t feel secure where you live, that counts. Everyone’s situation is different, and we want to hear yours.

  • You don’t need any experience in campaigning, volunteering, or projects. You don’t need to be confident, loud, or “good at speaking” either.

What matters most is lived or shared experience of housing problems – that might be something you’ve been through yourself, or something that’s affected someone close to you, like a friend, sibling, or carer. That kind of experience is powerful, but it isn’t about having the “perfect story”.

If you’re still figuring things out, that’s fine. If you’ve never done anything like this before, that’s fine too. We’re here to support you, help you grow, and build this together.

  • Yes. We want to make our spaces work for you.

All staff are trained in trauma-informed practice, and we’re used to supporting neurodivergent young people. We have things like fidget toys, coloured overlays, quiet options, and we’re happy to adapt sessions where we can. We can also cater for dietary needs.

You can always email us at projectnine@endz.uk if you want to ask questions, talk things through, or get help filling in the form. We’re here to help.

  • At every session we run we provide a free hot meal, and there’ll be chances to go on trips and days out through the year. You’ll get involved in fun stuff like creative projects, media, and shaping the campaign – you might help design content, events, or even merch.

It’s a space to meet new people, try new things, and be part of something that actually matters. You’ll build real-life skills around confidence, teamwork, creativity and speaking up – the kind of stuff that looks great on a CV, personal statement, or as a DofE volunteering section.

You’re not just turning up. You’re helping shape what Project 9.0 becomes.

  • While we’re not a housing charity, and can’t offer direct housing or legal support, we can help you find the right places to get this support.

We can also help you understand your rights, apply for funding, or can refer you for assistance on your behalf. We sometimes provide limited financial assistance to young people facing homelessness alone. In all cases you’ll need to be known to us and live or study in London to access our direct support. Find out more here.

Over time, Project 9.0 aims to change the system. We’re working with young people to build better support and resources for others facing homelessness, so fewer people fall through the cracks.
