Become a young advisor

We’re recruiting three paid Young Advisors to help run and shape Project 9.0. If you’re interested in working with others, taking responsibility, and developing real skills, we want to hear from you. You’ll help plan and run sessions, support young people, and help tell their stories.

  • You should be all of the following:

    • Aged 16-25

    • Eligible to work in the UK or Ireland

    • Live, study, or work in Greater London or Dartford

    • Able to commit to 8 hours per week (mix of online + in-person)

    • Happy to complete a DBS check

    • Open to learning and trying new things

    • Ready to take responsibility and get stuck in

  • You’ll work mainly in one focus area of the project, but everyone contributes to the campaign overall. Examples of what you may do include:

    • Helping plan and support campaign sessions

    • Creating or sharing content (photos, video, posts, updates)

    • Welcoming young people into sessions and supporting involvement

    • Taking part in team meetings and shaping ideas

    • Helping keep things organised and running smoothly

    • Representing the campaign in spaces or conversations when needed

You’ll be supported throughout, and you don’t need to know how to do everything already.

  • You’ll be paid the London Living Wage (£13.85/hr rising to £14.80 from April) for 8 hours a week, plus you’ll get:

    • Real experience in planning, content, youth engagement or organising

    • Support and training from the team

    • Something solid for your CV / UCAS / portfolio

    • A chance to shape how a real campaign runsork

  • Applications are currently closed and will re-open in Summer 2026. Follow our social media to be the first to know when it does!

You’ll need to apply using a form. It’s just a quick way for us to learn more about you and what you’d bring to the role.

Applications closed till Summer 2026

Your Questions, Answered.

  • We count South East London as any of these boroughs:

    • Bexley

    • Bromley

    • Greenwich

    • Lambeth

    • Lewisham

    • Southwark

Right now, we also accept young people from these East London boroughs:

    • Newham

    • Tower Hamlets

If you’re staying in temporary accommodation provided by any of these boroughs, you still count as being from that area – even if you’re currently placed somewhere else.

  • Homelessness isn’t just sleeping on the streets. It also means not having a safe, stable place to live. This can include staying in temporary accommodation, sofa surfing, living in an overcrowded home, or somewhere you could be asked to leave at any time.

If you don’t feel secure where you live, that counts. Everyone’s situation is different, and we want to hear yours.

  • Sessions take place every Tuesday, 4:45 – 6:15 pm at Lewisham Youth Theatre:

    436 Lewisham High Street
    London
    SE13 6LJ

You can check the map below for the street view. Please use the side entrance when you arrive.

Accessibility: The building currently does not have lift or step-free access. We’re sorry about this – if you have access needs or would like support getting in or taking part, please reach out to us and we’ll help however we can.

  • You don’t need any experience in campaigning, volunteering, or projects. You don’t need to be confident, loud, or “good at speaking” either.

What matters most is lived or shared experience of housing problems – that might be something you’ve been through yourself, or something that’s affected someone close to you, like a friend, sibling, or carer. That kind of experience is powerful, but it isn’t about having the “perfect story”.

If you’re still figuring things out, that’s fine. If you’ve never done anything like this before, that’s fine too. We’re here to support you, help you grow, and build this together.

  • Yes. We want this space to work for you.

In the form, you can let us know anything that would help you feel more comfortable taking part – big or small. That might be around access, anxiety, sensory needs, learning differences, food, travel, or anything else.

All staff are trained in trauma-informed practice, and we’re used to supporting neurodivergent young people. We have things like fidget toys, coloured overlays, quiet options, and we’re happy to adapt sessions where we can. We can also cater for dietary needs.

We do need to be honest that the building currently doesn’t have step-free or lift access. If that affects you, or if you’re unsure, please get in touch and we’ll talk it through with you.

You can always email us at projectnine@endz.uk if you want to ask questions, talk things through, or get help filling in the form. We’re here to help.

  • Every session has free food, and there’ll be chances to go on trips and days out through the year. You’ll get involved in fun stuff like creative projects, media, and shaping the campaign – you might help design content, events, or even merch.

It’s a space to meet new people, try new things, and be part of something that actually matters. You’ll build real-life skills around confidence, teamwork, creativity and speaking up – the kind of stuff that looks great on a CV, personal statement, or as a DofE volunteering section.

You’re not just turning up. You’re helping shape what Project 9.0 becomes.

  • We’re not a housing charity, so we can’t offer direct housing or legal support. But we can help you find the right places to get support, understand your rights, and – if you’re at risk – help you speak to local services.

Over time, Project 9.0 is also about changing this system. We’re working with young people to build better support and resources for others facing homelessness, so fewer people fall through the cracks.
