are you aged 11-25 and have lived experience of homelessness?

We’re looking for young advisors and youth ambassadors to lead and develop our campaign to end child homelessness in 9 years for the 90,000.

Taster day

Tuesday 5th August
5PM - 7PM

Aged 11-21 and live in South East London? Want to be part of something big? Thinking about signing up as a Youth Ambassador but not 100% sure yet? Join our taster day at Lewisham Youth Theatre and discover how you can get involved in the fight to end child homelessness.

  • Come get a first taste of Project 9.0, what it’s about, what we’re trying to do, and how you can shape it. Expect creative stuff like designing 9.0 t-shirts, reimagining London without child homelessness, and helping build the brand. It’s your chance to get involved from day one.

  • We’ll be at Lewisham Youth Theatre (436 Lewisham High Street, SE13 6LJ).

The nearest train station is Ladywell, and loads of buses stop nearby:
    Closest buses: 47, 54, 75, 136, 185, 199, 208
    10 min walk away: 202, 284, 484, 660, P4

Travel costs will be covered if you're travelling by train or are over 18 and travelling by bus — just keep your receipt or ticket.

FAQs

  • We count South East London as any of the following boroughs:

    • Bexley

    • Bromley

    • Greenwich

    • Lambeth

    • Lewisham

    • Southwark

You also count as being from South East London if your temporary accommodation is provided by any of these boroughs.

  • Homelessness isn’t just sleeping on the streets. It also means not having a safe, stable place to live. This could be staying in temporary accommodation, sofa surfing, living in a crowded home, or somewhere you could be asked to leave at any time. If you don’t feel secure where you live, that counts. Everyone’s situation is different, and we want to hear your experience.

  • Most sessions will be at Lewisham Youth Theatre every two weeks, usually after school. Sometimes we’ll meet in other places across South East London, but they’ll always be easy to get to. We’ll pay back travel costs, and cover any extra needs if you need support getting there.

  • No experience needed — just your lived experience, whether it’s your own or someone close to you. You don’t need to have done any campaigns, volunteering, or projects before. For the Youth Advisory Group, some teamwork experience helps, but it’s not a must. What matters most is your voice and your potential.

  • If there’s anything that would help you take part or feel more comfortable, let us know in the form, big or small. You can also email us at projectnine@endz.uk any time if you want to talk things through or need support with anything, like filling out the form. We’re here to help!

  • Yes – 100%! You’ll get a Project 9.0 t-shirt (which you’ll help design – exciting, we know), plus other bits to help you feel part of the team. If you’re in the Youth Advisory Group, you’ll also get a custom hoodie and your own YAG lanyard. At sessions, there’ll be snacks on deck and sometimes hot food, and we’ll plan fun trips and days out across the year, because doing good should feel good too.

  • We’re not a housing charity, so we can’t offer direct housing support or legal advice. But we can point you towards trusted services, help you understand your rights, and – if needed – speak to local services on your behalf if we think you may be at risk. Longer-term, we’re working with young people to build better support and resources for those facing homelessness.
